HitFix got on the phone with Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec on Thursday. They talk about this May’s finale, resolving love triangles and whether or not anybody has been attending classes this year. Read more below!

HitFix: I think that last question was really just my veiled way of asking what it’s gonna take to have Vicki come back…

Julie Plec: [Laughter.] You know what? We almost put Vicki in the finale because we love Kayla Ewell so much. She’s part of our family. Half the time, I’ve gotta be honest, the struggle is: Do we stick to our guns, creatively, and say, “That character will never be seen again?” or do we really want these wonderful members of our “Vampire Diaries” family to get to be able to come back and play with us a little bit every now and then? Kayla, I don’t think we’ll ever see Vicki again. We brought her back. She played her storyline and she said good-bye. She moved on. Matt said good-bye to her, so he closed that door. So I can’t definitively say “never,” but surely no plans to.

I’m really happy to tell you that Sophisticated Kayla Ewell celebrates its first year online today! I want to say thank you to Kayla, for inspiring me making this site in the first place, and all her fans around the world that support her and keep visiting the site!

In this past year, I did my best to run this site, supporting Kayla and providing fans with news and information about her. I’m willing to do the same for many years to come!

I can’t explain with words how much I’m grateful to Kayla, her fans and all amazing site visitors, because all of you gave me the chance to do something I love and I care about very much! Thank you everyone!

Okay, Franklin & Bash, I’ve never felt so official before!

Alloy Entertainment posted an exclusive video about Kayla and her Vampire Diaries co-star Malese Jow at the 2nd The Vampire Diaries Eyecon Convention. They talk about portraying ghosts on TVD season 3 and reveal who they think is the toughest Mystic Falls character.
